The Boy's Christmas(Updated)

The list that I composed in October and what we actually ended up buying the boys is quite different so I thought I would create a new one here. I am totally finished with their shopping and I am so happy and relieved. I don't have to worry over whether I will find this toy or that. (I already have it.) Yay!!!

We bought each of the boys three toys from Santa, books from us to open on Christmas Eve, and a Yamaha ride on toy.

Owen is so cute, he will tell you that what he wants for Christmas is a Monster Truck and a baby doll. I have not decided whether he would like a baby doll or this shrek baby better. He love shrek so much which I why I decided on this one. Now, he really wants Baby Alive, but 30.00 Ifor a baby doll for a boy is a bit much.

I *know* Gavin will love everything he gets, but that is because he wants any and everything. I have to try to maintain some type of self-control since I like to indulge him because his birthday is in January and then our house is too small for the toys they already have. :p

Christmas Traditions

Tib posted a cute quiz on the message board we are on together about different Christmas traditions. It gave me inspiration to share those here. ;p Oh, how I love Christmas. Don't you?

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper, however I do like the cute felt bags with embellishments.
2. Real tree or artificial? We do an artificial. I love a real tree but I like a taller, skinnier tree.
3. When do you put up the tree? The day after Thanksgivng.
4. When do you take the tree down?Around New Year's
5. Do you like eggnog? Yes I love it. I have never had it with alcohol though.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? Probably the year my parents got us a dog.
7. Do you have a Nativity scene? No, but I have the Willow Tree one picked out.
8. Hardest person to buy for? My mom, she is so selfless and will never give me hints on what she may want.
9. Easiest person to buy for?Gavin, he wants anything and everything.10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?Kmart clothes from my Stepgrandmother.
11. Mail or e-mail Christmas cards? Mail, emailing them is tacky.

4. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Yes, but not recently.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?My mom's sausage and cheese balls.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? I like to be home for Christmas. Especially with kids.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder, Blitzen {and Rudolph?}
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star or bow
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? One Christmas Eve and the rest the next morning.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Crowds and the fight to find certain hot toys.
23. Favorite Christmas tradition? Driving around several nights a week in search of Christmas lights, with carols playing on the radio.
24. Up early or sleeping in? I would sleep in, but the kids won't allow it, of course.
25. Who hands out the gifts? I do
26. Does Santa wrap your gifts? Yes
27. Do you tell the Christmas story? Yes, all season long.
28. Do you leave cookies for Santa? Cookies and milk for Santa and we leave a letter for him that is gone on Christmas morning. (Tib had the idea of leaving the reindeer carrotts which I think I may steal for this year).

Something we also do is have a little Birthday party for Baby Jesus on Christmas Eve with a cake and balloons.
Then we do an advent calendar for the month of December.

I just LOVE Christmas time.

Ga-Ga Man

I know it probably sounds very uneducated, but that is my nickname for my red-headed buddy. ;P

Here are some great pictures of him. Owen was being VERY difficult so he didn't get pictures in his firetruck sweater. Much to my dismay. He was so cute.

10 Weeks

It really is amazing how fast my pregnancy has progressed thus far. Especially this past week. With all of the Thanksgiving celebrations and activities, it has really flown by. I know December is going to be more of the same.

Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature. He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy. If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin. In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

Baby Jesus

Owen is sooo cute when he says, "Baby Jeesa". They both really love to wrap themselves up in towels and pretend that they are either Mary or Baby Jesus. I found this really neat foamies set and decided it would be the perfect craft for the boys. It ended up being very difficult to put together, even with the help of a glue gun. I really like doing crafts with the boys, but I prefer things that require very little adult assistance. This craft was NOT one of them. However, we all enjoyed ourselves and the end result was very cute.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

I am really proud of my decorations. Last year, I had a tiny Charlie Brown tree so I did a lot of convincing to Eddie to let me buy this tree. We all are very happy with it. Eddie even likes it a lot better.(Who am I kidding? He didn't like the tiny one, thus the Charlie Brown, nickname.) The kids are really loving it since Grandma had a big tree last year. I was also absolutely thrilled yesterday when I found a coordinating stocking to go with the boys' for the new baby. Even better news is that it was 50% off since it was last year's stock. I also custom painted initial ornaments for the boys this past weekend. I am really happy with how they turned out.
